Bone and Dental Bioengineering Laboratory
Il prof. Federico Mussano svolge attività di ricerca odontoiatrica di base prevalentemente in due ambiti:
-la biologia delle cellule staminali mesenchimali (Adipose derived Stem Cells, ASCs, e Periodontal Ligament derived Stem Cells, PDLSCs) come fonte per la rigenerazione di tessuto osseo e parodontale, in collaborazione con il Politecnico di Torino (DIMEAS).
-l'adozione di tecnologie di modificazione superficiale (in collaborazione con il Politecnico di Torino, DISAT) per ridurre l'adesione batterica superficiale, accelerare l'osseointegrazione e migliorare il sigillo mucoso degli impianti dentali.
C.V. and short Track Record
Dr. Mussano’s research activities focus on the development and whole characterisation of intraosseous biomaterials. He cofounded a University Spin-off for the prototyping and production of innovative dental implants (2011), named Twocare, of which he was CEO from 2014 to 2017. Dr. Mussano is coauthor of one hundred papers on international journals with IF and two European patents. He is currently PI at the Bone and Dental Bioengineering Laboratory of the Dental School of the University of Turin. He served as deputy coordinator of the PhD Programme in Bioengineering and Medical and Surgical Sciences.
